O'Meara's "Colorado Experience" is the fun new way to obtain and
maintain your vehicle. It's an environment that positively stimulates
all of your senses. It's a third generation Family owned business that
celebrates the beauty we know as Colorado.
Let's begin the online tour with your approach to O'Meara. As you near
104th and I-25 you will notice two unique things. Along I-25 is
Colorado's largest 33,000 color LED electronic billboard. O'Meara
utilizes this opportunity to announce such important community interest
information as local sports heroes, breath taking Colorado photography,
Colorado trivia, salutes to the Broncos, Avalanche and Rockies, plus the
latest hot deals offered by O'Meara Ford. Much of what is seen is
presented with a bit of humor tossed in for good measure. The sign has
garnered a huge following and the community has begun to check the board
daily for information and updates that effect their lives. O'Meara has
received totally unexpected responses from passersby expressing
gratitude for our focus on the community and often its unsung heroes.
Special occasions, holidays, news of our men in uniform and salutes to
veterans of all eras are interspersed with features and happenings in
our FORD store.
Beneath this "landmark" sign is a 16 foot long Bronze statue of a
'Colorado Mountain Lion" affectionately named Molly. Molly has become
our mascot and has been animated into a cartoon like character. She
co-stars with Bonnie, our 28 year veteran spokesperson, in our
television commercials.

Upon entering our facility on 104th Avenue, you are immediately struck
by the magnificent beauty of two bronze Big Horn sheep. The sheep were
built and designed by famed wildlife expert Steve LeBlanc. The male
stands guard, while his female companion grazes in safety a short
distance away. The "Big Horn" sheep were chosen as they are" Colorado's
official state animal." They are poised atop 14 tons of Colorado
boulders that make up a most natural waterfall and are surrounded by
grasses and wildflowers. The scene depicts the "Colorado Experience"
that awaits visitors to our first class Ford store.

As you enter O'Meara's showroom, you begin your journey in our all glass
atrium. The room is reminiscent of a sun-filled solarium filled with
beautiful objects. The walls are adorned with beautiful Colorado art and
the objects of art consist of Fords latest designs in sheet metal,
direct from the manufacturer. You can admire the beauty of Thunderbird,
Mustang and the all new F-150. As you exit, you have a choice of
direction. One corridor leads into the café complete with fresh baked
cookies and pastries and of course gourmet coffee. The other takes you
on a journey through bits and pieces of Colorado history and winds its
way through the inviting gazebo in the middle of the expanse that opens
into the children's play room, Cool Stuff Store and a lovely lounge
filled with comfortable chairs and fireplaces.
|
As you continue your walk, you may or may not be aware of the music
prevalent throughout the facility. O'Meara's goal was to provide a music
venue that made its listeners "feel good." Consequently, we chose feel
good music such as that offered by artists like James Brown, "I Feel
Good", The Beatles "I Feel Fine" and "I'm So Excited," by the Pointer
Sisters. Employees and customers alike were surveyed and asked to
provide three of their favorite "feel good" songs, thus filling our song
list to just over 1000 hits. The speakers and audio components provide
sharp, clear recordings and allow for a "feel good" atmosphere to
permeate the surroundings.

The entrance to the Gazebo is on either side of our bronze Bear family,
adjacent the front entrance of the showroom. Inside you'll find two
fireplaces, overstuffed comfortable chairs, one centered vehicle display
and information on Ford product.
This is the main area in which to conduct your automotive purchase.
The Gazebo appearance is that of a fine Colorado lodge complete with
stone pillars, granite floors and is surrounded by golden Aspen trees.
Above the fireplaces you'll find two examples of Colorado wildlife in
the form of Moose and Elk. Both sculptures by Steve LeBlanc.
The winding corridor outside the gazebo emulates a Colorado river
adorned with five varieties of Colorado trout painted in it, by local
artist Vincent Tolpo. Climbing the pillars are small replicas of "rock
climbers", depicting real rock climbers seen hanging from the canyons in
Boulder, Colorado. The "Colorado Experience" continues.
Children who correctly guess the number of fish, receive a stuffed
version of "Molly the Mountain Lion" to take home. As might be expected,
there are no wrong answers.

New vehicles are delivered indoors on the showroom floor. They are
detailed and fully gassed, brought inside and parked just "feet "away
from where you started your shopping. Your salesperson will explain
during his "walk around" prior to your departure, the warranty and all
the operating features of your new Ford. It is here and at this time
that you will be requested to sign the "delivery checklist."
There is much more to see and do before you leave |
 |
The "Colorado Experience" extends outside to encompass our entire 22
acre campus. To traverse the area safely and quickly, O'Meara provides
electric golf carts and designated
concrete paths. These paths start outside the main showroom and continue
along the West side of the facility. Upon reaching the fenced gate going
into our lower parking lot, the path turns East toward the main truck
lot along I-25. This section of the path is what we call our "Nature
Trail." Planted for 1/3 of a mile are 23 varieties of wildflowers, 3000
Columbine, 75 Aspen trees and several bronze wildlife sculptures by
Steve LeBlanc. You will find Fox, Deer, Buffalo and Elk. Each animal is
depicted in its natural habitat. There are hand carved stone benches
strategically placed for quick respites and butterfly watching. All
plant materials were chosen for their heartiness and drought resistance.
Water for irrigation comes from our pond.

On your way back from the grounds you will pass the largest service
department in Colorado. Here you may drop off your vehicle in a heated
and cooled area, just feet away from a trained professional. He will
then quickly processes your request making even routine maintenance,
such as an oil change, a breeze. This is a process that we perform over
100 times a day. Our trained and certified technicians are housed in a
huge naturally and electronically lit climate controlled area where the
fresh air is exchanged every six minutes. This ideal climate insures
that a comfortable technician focuses only on the job at hand and
nothing else.
The best equipment is the rule and cleanliness is a must, as the
dedicated Zamboni makes its passes every day over the glossy white
floor, that is both comfortable and useful. The floors "reflect light "
thus providing additional visibility for diagnostic computer screen
readings.

The Colorado Experience is best in person! A surprise a minute. A "must see" is our Salt Water Fish aquarium and the functioning scale model RC Planes hanging from the ceiling. See an actual flag that flew over an American Navy Destroyer during battle against Japan, while under the command of Alfred O'Meara JR. See "Cowboy Corner" that pays tribute to Betty Van Vleet O'Meara and her
western heritage. The Van Vleet family brought the Arabian horse to America from Cairo Egypt in the 1920's. Betty's family ranch named "Caribou Ranch" in Nederland Colorado was long known for the rodeos and Arabian Horse shows that brought thousands to the ranch every weekend to watch the worlds finest horses perform. Documented by Warner Brother
Film Studios in the mid-nineteen-thirties, gave the horses and the ranch much needed publicity and further promoted the eventual creation of the Arabian Horse Registry. The O'Meara Family is deeply rooted in Colorado history. Originally from the County Cork in Ireland, the family of Daniel O'Meara expanded and prospered in America. The founding father of our dealership was
Alfred M. O'Meara, Sr., who passed away in the mid 60's. His son Alfred O'Meara, Jr. ran the store for more than 50 years, until his death in 2001. Grandson, Brian M. O'Meara is the present President and General Manager. Giving back to the community, we continue to proudly sponsor local athletic teams, charities, community events, parades and we share our meeting room "free of charge" to non profits and business groups, local car clubs and city officials. This is only a portion of the story. Visit us in person for "the rest of the story."
